So Colette and Davy kicked off my 2020 wedding season in September! I still find it hard to believe we were nine months in before weddings started taking place but in a year of complete uncertainty it was beautiful to be part of weddings where they felt even more important. Davy and Colette’s original date was June but with lockdown firmly in place they moved to September and kept everything crossed to the run up to their day. With numbers and restrictions in place they pulled everything back to their closest family and friends with their service held in the Beech Hill Country House Hotel woodland setting followed by a family meal.

I met up with Davy at the hotel, I’ve know him for years and started my photography career with him. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him smile so much, it really was ear to ear all day. Colette was walked down the aisle by her three sons taking turns to hand over. Following the service we wandered around the grounds for photos and they even had a first dance on the lawn! Colette you looked absolutely stunning and Davy I'm so glad you got to wear your tartan as a proud Scotsman!

Here’s what Davy and Colette had to say about their wedding day:

What a rollercoaster of year - getting married in 2020 was no easy task! We started making plans in 2019 and originally booked a June date. Then came the dreaded Covid-19, a worldwide pandemic that few thought would reach our shores. By March everything had changed, lockdowns, closure of hotels, schools and society so that put paid to the June wedding. Our date was changed to September when the lockdown was due to ease and although the numbers where capped at 30 everything looked great. We had an amazing, special day and wouldn’t change a thing!
