On the week before a wedding I’m on weather watch and normally I’m praying for no rain. However, the week Colleen and Paul got married we were in the middle of a heatwave and I spent the week hoping the temperatures would drop! No one was listening to me though and on the day it was 29 degrees, I think the hottest of the year with not a cloud in the sky!! When I arrived at Colleen’s house I wondered how on earth she would survive in that heat. Hats off to Colleen’s makeup artist with her techniques applied to ensure the makeup stayed put.
Colleen’s house was a hive of activity and before she walked down the stairs the Greek tradition of petals and rice were scattered across the floor.
The reception was held at the Ballyliffin Lodge and Spa right on the coast. In the melting heat the sea never looked so tempting! Of course, given the time of the year and the weather the place was packed but we still managed to dodge folks in their swimwear and get some lovely pictures. A fantastic day with a lovely couple. Congratulations xx
PS – at the bottom of the blog is a collage of the beautiful jewellery Colleen made for herself, bridesmaids and mum. I understand she customised her own necklace from her granny’s pearls, a perfect personal touch.
Colleen made the stunning bridal jewellery, some of it customised from her grannies pearls. To check out more of her beautiful work visit her Facebook page - Ella Rose Handcrafted Jewellery http://www.facebook.com/EllaRoseHandcraftedJewellery?fref=ts
